The Oscar Nominees are in, and this year I myself am particularly excited because I spent much of the last year hitting up the movies and seeing almost everything that is nominated. I see Avatar winning best Picture, but it was great to see both District 9 and the Blind Side nominated, both excellent films which deserve to be recognized. Below is a list of the key Awards.

“Avatar” and “The Hurt Locker” narrowly led the Oscar nominees, with nine nominations each, including best picture and best director, as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences scattered its honors among an unusually wide field of contenders on Tuesday.
