Malmö FF x PUMA Match

Posted in Accessory, Adidas, Fashion, PUMA, Sneakers with tags , , , , , , , on April 28, 2010 by mattyfresh697400

Even with the frequency with which I purchase sneakers (which is constantly) I actually can not recall the last pair of PUMA kicks that I have copped. So it was a pleasant surprise on another FREEZING April NYC morning to find a new puma , with a colorway even my mom would love. There is something about sky-blue or is that Carolina blue that I just can’t get enough of.

Now I don’t know a damn thing about Swedish Soccer teams , but I am also not color blind either and these will certainly pop this spring. They are on the list for sure.

Swedish football team Malmö FF celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2010 as PUMA create a special colorway of their terrace-suitable classic, the Match. The low-top features a simple white leather construction with subtle nods of Malmö FF blue. Branding on the tongue and underneath the PUMA stamp are also added for a customized touch. Available on Friday, April 30th at Sneakersnstuff

Also shout out to my man Oliver Brodlieb who recently designed his own Adidas kick at the ORIGINALS shop in Soho which has some striking colorway similarities to this new PUMA model.

Adidas Originals by Originals James Bond & David Beckham Tennis Vintage Hi

The first batch of Adidas Originals by James Bond & David Beckham was not terribly impressive, I took a trip to the SOHO location with the intention of buying a pair , but I was simply not moved. I ended up with what must be my 50th pair of Rod Lavers and called it a day.

Among the high-profile collaborations from adidas Originals this past season included the David Beckham Originals by Originals capsule designed by UNDFTD’s James Bond. A recent release features the SS 80 Tennis Vintage Hi with a minimalistic and simple black and white colorway.

But I am happy to say that this latest style seems to be a step in the right direction for the Beckham brand within the Adidas Originals universe.

Adidas Originals – Nizza Low

Posted in Adidas, NYC, Sneakers with tags , , , on March 30, 2010 by mattyfresh697400

I hit Adidas in Soho this weekend , expecting to cop a pair of the David Beckham’s. I had only seen them online , but the clean lines and interesting sole (and the Beckham brand)  seemed to make it a no brainer. But after seeing them in person I was not all that impressed,  and the $150.00 price point seemed high for such a basic look. I have always loved the Lavers and the Stan Smiths and for the same price I could buy three pairs of either line.

Then I stumbled upon the NIZZA LOW. I had seen these on the web but they sort slipped my mind, but as soon as I saw the sky blue three stripes it was on. I think they will look perfect for the spring time, of course the fact that I feel like I live in Seattle with all this crazy rain makes me feel like spring is far away….but a good purchase to add to the collection.

More Beckham x Adidas

Just found this flick of the complete David Beckham x Adidas collection from the good folks at Crooked Tongues. I have to say the clean lines are just dope. Beckham could have gone all hipster on us, but they choose to to keep it classy. (You Stay Classy San Diego!)

David Beckham x Adidas x James Bond

Life is good if you’re David Beckham. I mean c’mon your married to a spice girl, your kids name is Brooklyn and your famous the world over, plus this dude is as pretty as his wife. Aside from having achieved global icon status thanks to his soccer skills and…we’ll call it…”marketability”, he also has an entire line of clothing and footwear soon to release from Adidas Originals, and he didn’t even have to design it.

That credit can go to UNDFTD’s James Bond, who worked in tandem with Beckham to reflect his tastes and put together this incredibly clean and versatile capsule collection, featuring not only the subtly branded boat-themed sneaker seen above, but also a complementary timeless set of apparel. Check for these to hit Adidas Originals accounts this spring.
