The time between the Superbowl and the start of the Baseball season is always a tough time for those of us that need sports in our lives, (Thank God for the UFC) But for myself and my fellow Yankee Fans its a time to continue to wear our championship hats and t-shirts and any other goodies we might have picked up during our return to glory.  I know all my World Series gear still fits like a glove!!

62 Days till BASEBALL…Yankee Brass in Japan!

Ok fine it was like 4 degrees this weekend in the home of the WORLD SERIES CHAMPS, but its just weeks till pitchers and catchers and that means the first pitch of the regular season is right around the corner. The Yankees already had depth and despite the losses of Damon, Matsui , and Melky they might actually have a deeper team this year. With the additions of NJ, Curtis, and Javier. Joe Girardi commented that he feels strongly that the team we field in 2010 will be as strong if not stronger than the World Champs…should be fun!

Nice Looking Trophy

The Yankee Brass (Brian Cashman and Randy Levine) brought the WORLD SERIES trophy to Japan so fans of the Yankees and of course GODZILLA (Matsui) could enjoy a glimpse of the TROPHY.

TOKYO (Reuters) – New York Yankees executives paraded the team’s World Series trophy on the first leg of an Asian tour on Monday, saying championship MVP and Japanese slugger Hideki Matsui would be difficult to replace.

Matsui, the 2009 World Series Most Valuable Player, signed a $6 million, one-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels in the offseason, ending a seven-year Yankees tenure.

General Manager Brian Cashman said bringing Matsui to New York from the 2003 season was one of his best signings for the Bronx Bombers.

“I’ve had some successful signings in Japan, I’ve had some unsuccessful signings in Japan. Hideki Matsui will be one of the best deals I ever made,” he said.

“We will have future players from Japan on our roster. They will do everything in their power to try to help us win, but I doubt we’ll find another Hideki Matsui.”

Long Live Godzilla!

65 Days Till BASEBALL!!!!!

Call me crazy but the NEW YORK YANKEES will repeat as World Series Champions in 2010! The key with the Yankees is the nucleus of the “CORE 4” Jeter, Mariano, Petitte and Posada. With all 4 returning and expected to be healthy, thats 20 World Series Titles between them. That is EXPERIENCE of the most valuable kind. And of course each one of them has already repeated in back to back years as World Series Champs. So not only do they know how hard it is to get there and win, but also how hard it is to do that in back to back years. The new blood on the Yankees, or rather those who just tasted ultimate victory for the first time, AROD, CC, AJ, Nicky Swish, TEX, Cano, Hughes, Joba…these guys will be so hungry to get there again. I think the fact that this team jelled so well and won it all , is quite simply a recipe for repeat GREATNESS.

2010 is going to be a legendary year for the Bombers!!!!

LETS GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!
